Axalta Introduces Voltaprem Impregnating Resin for Medium- and High-Voltage Motors
14 Dec 2016 - Axalta Coating Systems (NYSE: AXTA), a leading global supplier of liquid and powder coatings, introduces Voltaprem 5000, a new one-component impregnating resin. It has been specifically developed for the insulation of medium- and high-voltage equipment, such as generators for the wind, rail and energy industries or rail traction motors and motors for general industrial applications.

The new high-quality brand is a perfect complement to our existing Voltatex® product portfolio,” says Andrea Busch, Global Marketing Manager for Axalta’s Energy Solutions business.
With its exceptionally low viscosity, Voltaprem 5000 is ideally suited for vacuum-pressure impregnation. Its unique chemical characteristics enable the users to optimize the impregnation process and utilize efficiency gains. With its exceptional viscosity and surface tension, Voltaprem 5000 is able to penetrate multiple layers of mica tapes easily, and consequently ensure the highest insulating performance and service life. Voltaprem 5000 is formulated using renewable raw materials, is free of VOCs and shows minimum curing losses. It meets all applicable REACH regulatory requirements and RoHS (Restriction of Hazardous Substances) related EU Directives.

Voltaprem 5000 comes as a 1-pack resin and is ready for use upon delivery. Adjustments, such as the addition of hardeners or accelerators, are not needed. Voltaprem 5000 will be globally available beginning in January 2017.
